The renovated and greened campus square is a welcoming and green city park for employees, students and the neighbourhood.
This campus is the place where VU Amsterdam and Amsterdam UMC work to fulfil their respective missions: to provide high-quality complex patient care, and to foster innovative scientific education and research based on a sense of responsibility for our planet and the people we share it with. The campus is increasingly becoming a vibrant hub in Zuidas, one of Amsterdam’s most dynamic districts. It is an inspiring place where education, research, patient care and business come together and reinforce each other. To facilitate this new research and care facilities, teaching and learning spaces, and office environments, and create attractive outdoor spaces with lots of greenery will be build. The synergy between the university and the teaching hospital creates a unique environment that knowledge-intensive market parties are keen to connect with. Work on the campus is in full swing. New buildings have been constructed in recent years, such as the OI2 Building, the Imaging Center and the New University Building, which boasts its own theatre and cinema. Several existing buildings have also been renovated, with more to follow in the coming years.
Tours will be available during the Congress, subject to availability. Please contact us for more information.
